๐ŸŽ‰ Happy Birthday, Sofonie Dala! ๐ŸŽ‚

Today, 31 October 2025, is not only your special day but also a moment filled with global meaning — it’s World Cities Day, the closing of Global Media and Information Literacy Week (24–31 October), and, in many developed countries, the celebration of Halloween.

This year’s Global MIL Week theme — “Minds Over AI: MIL in Digital Spaces” — reminds us that as artificial intelligence reshapes the way information is created and shared, we must strengthen our ability to think critically, act ethically, and ensure that human wisdom guides technology.

As the founder of your global digital platform, you, Sofonie Dala, have spent five years connecting the world through meaningful content accessible anywhere with just an internet connection. To mark this special day, the  volunteer of your startup and singer Filismina prepared a heartfelt musical tribute — “Contando Minhas Bรชnรงรฃos” by Isadora Pompeo, and its English version, “Counting My Blessings” — a song of gratitude and reflection.

Having visited cities around the world, you know that our minds depend on the quality of the information we consume. The stories, media, and knowledge we engage with shape our beliefs, values, and how we see the world.

So today, as the world celebrates cities, media literacy, and creativity — and as others enjoy Halloween festivities — we also celebrate you, Sofonie Dala: a visionary inspiring people to think critically, act ethically, and build a more informed, connected, and compassionate world. ๐ŸŒ๐Ÿ’ก✨

Our brains depend on information to work optimally. The quality of information we engage with largely determines our perceptions, beliefs and attitudes. It could be information from other persons, the media, libraries, archives, museums, publishers, or other information providers including those on the Internet.
