She is the first black woman to have privilege to present NAVRUZ in Russia

 Early life 

Sofonie Dala, graduated from Ufa State Petroleum Technological University / Russian Federation. She entered in Russian territory in 2005 with only 13 years old. 

She started working with the public and speaking to large audiences since my student years, ie. 2010-present). So far, her campaigns have reached over a million people worldwide.


In the 2010 - 2015, Sofonie Dala was considered as the most powerful African woman of the Ufa State Technical Petroleum University and she was also the first black woman to have privilege to present NAVRUZ, one of the brightest, most joyful and beautiful holidays, not only in Bashkortostan, but in the whole Muslim East! Spring festival of Navruz, the oriental New Year, is celebrated on 21 March, of the republics of the Russian Federation, such as Tatarstan and Uzbekistan. 




Sofonie Dala participated in several multicultural activities and university activities in Russia. Throughout her student life was the presenter of all the events of the 11 of November (Angolan independence day) and the day of Africa realized in the Ufa city.

In 2013, she competed in the Russian Language Olympiad which took place at the Russian University of Friendship of Peoples in Moscow and won the first place with prize of ‘’The best presentation project ‘’. She used to speak, sing, dance and teach Angolan culture in foreign lands, and also won several certificates at scientific conferences.



In the video below Sofonie Dala is giving an interview to the Russian press on Africa day in 2013. She was the presenter of the event that took place at the university where she studied.




This event was of great scale as several important entities of the republic were invited and almost all university in the city where there were African students also participated.

2019 - present 

Sofonie Dala is also an investigative journalist, independent scholar and researcher who while studying at Sol Plaatje Institute for Media Leadership, wrote a successful research for her country about the implementation of e-learning for out of school women and girls in Angola including disabled people that lack literacy capabilities due many factors, such as: gender inequality, teenage pregnancy and high level of poverty.

In November 2019, this project received general recognition and attracted the attention of African Union Committee, and Dala was selected out of over 3000 applicants to represent Angola at the 3rd youth capacity building workshop promoted by African Union/Centre for girls and women's education in Africa.




Sofonie Dala is an exemplary, inspirational and motivational young woman who has proven to be an excellent role model for many young Africans. As her social activities have been attracting the attention of many interesting people.



Dala was one of the most outstanding student in her Postgraduate Diploma in Media Management (PDMM) class of 2019 and was the only student invited by the Vice- Chancellor, Dr Sizwe Mabizela to the annual Postgraduate Student Cocktail function in honour of 77 outstanding postgraduate students’ journals & conference award recipients 2019 at Rhodes University in Grahamstown, South Africa. She is also known worldwide for her social media activism on behalf of human rights and peace, corruption, gender inequality, discrimination and community gender-based violence.

2020 

June-July the startup Talentos Multiplus was legally registered. 12 July 2020 - Published he first academic book.

With the aim of helping thousands of international students, particularly Angolans, who study abroad, she decided to publish her thesis as a book in order to ease the lives of those students who have been struggling to find scientific and academic information about Angola in order to write their course work.

 


Her hard work has been recognized internationally and an article about my intelligence  was published in Diaspora Network Television (DNT) -  a TV channel with an aim of fostering mutual understanding between Ghana and her diaspora for the purpose of collaborating for national development.

Sofonie Dala (Angola) - The Global Peace Ambassador highlighted the dichotomy that exists in the capital of Luanda as the most expensive city in the world but yet having over 70% of its inhabitants living in extreme poverty. which is now being compounded by torrential rains killing hundreds of people on a daily basis.



2018-2019 – She won a contest and was privileged with a full scholarship from the Open Society Initiative for Southern Africa (OSISA). In Apr. 2020 she completed her Postgraduate Diploma in Media Management and Leadership at Sol Plaatje Institute, Rhodes University of South Africa. The study was fully sponsored by OSISA. The initiative is aimed at empowering female media professionals to be successful and gender-sensitive media leaders in an industry still dominated by males.



In December 2020 the AU/CIEFFA elected her as #AfricaEducatesHer campaign Youth Ambassador in Southern Africa in order to support and bring awareness about the issues preventing girls in accessing quality education.

2021 

She conducted the Anatomy of Action sustainable living Challenge, using social media and driving support for global changes to achieve the 2030 Sustainable Development Goals.

Coordinated by the UN Environmental Programme, between September – October 2021. In June 2021 honored to represent Angola and the Palops at Africa Fairtrade Convention. In September 2020 she became TFF Ambassador in Southern Africa community in order to raise awareness about food and agriculture and the opportunities to innovate in this space. Play a role in regional, national, and international partnerships.
